DIY Surprises

Lots of interesting things are coming out of the sewing room these days.  Scraps of fabrics and old discarded blue jeans are converted into clever, useful, and attractive things and rope baskets.  It is amazing what a little time and ingenuity can do.  If you see something you like, contact me.  There are lots of wonderful gifts just waiting to be created.

Taramack Scrappy Jacket
This scrappy quilted jacket is the bomb!  It is a collection of all my quilts and carries memories for me. It also sports tailored welted pockets and Hong Kong seams which enhances it classic look.

Scrappy Quilted Jackets and Vests

You can turn a quilt into a garment or create your own from your scrap pile.  You are the designer here.  Such great fun and use of what you already have on hand.  You're limited only by your imagination.

This vest was made from flannel scraps from a quilt.  It is stylish, warm, and oh-so-soft. It's amazing what you can do with scraps.
This vest is repurposed from a quilt that was never seen into a vest that receives compliments every time it's worn.  Turn one of your forgotten quilts into a lovely garment.

Recycling Jeans

New life is given to these tired worn-out jeans. They've been turned into cross-body bags and beach bags with built-in front and back pockets for phones, keys, water bottles or whatever you need to carry with you. These bags also carry sentimental value. My nieces carry a little bit of their dad and grandfather with them wherever they go.  Memories.

Legs Legs and more Legs

It's amazing what you can do with old jeans. Try converting them into rifle bags and drink bags. The short-leg jeans make nice rifle bags for a small 22.  The jeans this small bag was made from belonged to the owner's grandfather. The larger bag was made from jeans from days gone by. The owner got a big kick out of knowing the jeans hadn't fit him in years, but now fit his rifle perfectly.  The front pocket and inside waistband are lined with velcro to secure cargo and the butt pocket can carry a cell phone, ammo, or other items he may need at the range.  The legs can also be made into drink carriers for hikers, bikers, and adventurers of all kinds. All items can be embellished with earned patches or embroidery to personalize. And don't forget these jeans legs make great carriers for yoga mats, beach umbrellas, folding outdoor chairs, and fishing rods. The list goes on and on.

Zip-a-dee-doo-dah

Zippity ay, my oh my what a wonderful day.  And, it's always a good day when you've got a handy pouch to carry all your various treasures. From make-up, school supplies, sewing tools, medication, and much more you will be organized and ready for any occasion.  The vinyl see-through front is especially nice because you can keep track of your thing at a glance.  No more opening and closing your bags to find things.

Meshing Around

These versatile draw-string bags are perfect for kids and adults of all ages. They come in three sizes-small, medium, and large, and can be worn as a backpack or over the shoulder. The mesh tops and front pockets stretch for convenience. They are perfect for the beach, the boat, a hike, or a bike ride. These cute bags are lightweight, washable, and can be customized to any activity or personality.

 Memories

Turning a loved one's shirts and jeans into useful keepsakes is an honor. "Memory pillows" make for wonderful gifts for family members and interesting home decor.  "Memory Bags" are made to carry thoughts and memories along with you and can be lined with a favorite shirt or other articles a family member remembers fondly. I appreciate being part of this process for families.
